In 1925, during her first tour of the United States, Nadia Boulanger delivered the Lectures on Modern Music at Houston’s Rice Institute. Join WindSync for a program celebrating the centenary of this fateful visit, which would build Boulanger’s reputation as the preeminent music educator of the 20th century and influence the shape of American music as we know it. The program includes works by Boulanger and some of her most notable American students as well as the 21st-century revival of a quintet by Marion Bauer.
